Meet the Team

We’re frequently told by clients that we’re really nice people… easy to get along with… a joy to work with. This is exactly what we hoped for when Blueberry was first formed in 1997. Our staff have been with us a long time, some from the very beginning, and we enjoy working in partnership with our clients.

Here is a short list of the key personnel at Blueberry:

Martin Green - Managing Director

Martin Green founded Blueberry Consultants in 1997. Software development – and the creation of new products and companies – has been central to Martin’s life and career. He started programming on small microcomputers while at school, and after University established a game development company, ATD, which employed 35 people by the time he left to start Blueberry. Martin has been directly involved in the creation of three other start-up companies, and has been a director of two other UK technology companies. Martin believes that quality software development can make people’s lives easier, and takes a passionate interest in all Blueberry projects.

Duncan Forsyth – Senior Systems Designer

Qualifications: BSc in Computer Science, University of Warwick
Location: Cambridge

Duncan Forsyth has worked for Blueberry since 2003, and has been responsible for many key Blueberry projects. Duncan’s background is in C development – an area where he is regarded as something of a Guru within the company. Recently, Duncan has developed a considerable expertise in SQL Server, including the setup of database replication between UK and India, and China and Hong Kong. Duncan’s very interested in software engineering best-practice, and how projects can be run more efficiently.

Carl Smith – Product Manager

Carl has over fifteen years’ experience working in digital media and online projects and has worked for companies in a variety of industries, both media agencies and client side. Notably, these have included Halfords, BBC Worldwide, Sky Sports and Stratstone. He has held roles that have included web and app project management, managing a digital team and developing their processes, and has worked with clients to build digital strategies to support the growth of products or services. Away from work, he enjoys family time, with three children to entertain. He is also a keen follower of football and cricket.

Phil Turner – Senior Software Designer

Location: HQ Birmingham

Phil Turner has a professional career in software development spanning more than 25 years, mainly in real-time SCADA environments. His experience extends across many industries, most notably automotive, steel, gas, water, and glass. Phil has been involved in a number of projects for Blueberry since 2009, including a major bed management system for the healthcare sector. His big passion is photography, producing many successful and well received images at his local camera club.

Julie Ebbitt – Financial Controller

Qualifications: Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA); Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA); Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT)
Location: HQ Birmingham

Julie joined Blueberry in 2015 and is responsible for the finance functions for Blueberry Consultants, Blueberry Systems and Blueberry Software. Julie has spent more than half of her career working in the Pharmaceutical R& D/ Biotech sector, working with spinouts, start-ups, owner managed private limited companies and a NASDAQ listed Biotech. Outside of work life revolves round her family and any spare time is usually spent reading.

Raspal Chima – Marketing Manager

Qualifications: BSc. in Physics
Location: HQ Birmingham

Raspal Chima has the job of developing Blueberry’s websites and marketing the company to the world – and he’s also centrally involved in the marketing of Blueberry Software products. Previously, he’s worked for a number of blue-chip companies – including Honeywell, Wacker Chemie AG, and global advertising agency, McCann Erickson (managing PR for household names, Coca-cola, British Steel and WD40). Raspal also has a keen interest in writing – his more recent work includes a stint as a features editor for a magazine publishing company and writing two fiction novels. The books, by the way, are available to buy, if you look hard enough on the Web!

Steve Moorse - Development Manager

Qualifications: BA Hons, Chemical Engineering, Birmingham University
Location: HQ Birmingham

Steve Moorse has been involved in software development since starting as a junior programmer in 1987. The majority of his career has been managing the development of software for the Pensions and Insurance industry on both Microsoft and Java platforms. He has experience of using a variety of project management methodologies and has managed projects with multi-million pound budgets. He is a keen follower of a wide variety of sports, but particularly cricket. One Interesting fact about Steve is that he attended the same school in Uganda as two of Idi Amin’s children!

James Peel - Development Project Manager

Qualifications: BSc. (Hons) in Computer Science, University of Liverpool
Location: HQ Birmingham

James Peel has a professional career in software development and IT infrastructure management spanning 20 years. Over that period he has managed complex IT projects for a wide range of customers in the UK, Europe and USA. James is a certified PRINCE 2 Practitioner and is experienced in Agile project methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. James has worked for several successful start-ups and very well versed in software product management and engineering team leadership. James’ leisure time pursuits include electronic music production, live music and sailing.

Dhruvesh Patel - Project Manager

Qualifications: MBA – Masters of Business Administration, BSc – Information Technology [1st Class], BSc – Computer Science [2nd]
Location: HQ Birmingham

Dhruvesh Patel has previously worked as a lead technical consultant for a US-based search solutions provider, specialising within accounts automation. Before this, he’d spent a number of years as a solutions analyst for Citigroup UK, where he’d initially started off as a C# .NET Developer, then progressing onto business systems analysis and project management. Dhruvesh will be very much engaged with project management duties at Blueberry, in particular the design, planning and implementation of software development projects for clients, as well as dealing with a range of technical & support issues. His interests include competitive sports, such as occasional 5-a-side indoor football, pool, go-karting and cricket.

Liubov Green – Personnel Manager

Qualifications: MA in Applied Linguistics, University of Birmingham
Location: HQ Birmingham

Liubov Green graduated with an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham. She is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London, and the Institute of Interpreters and Translators. Her passion is languages and she’s an avid reader of classics and historical books. Luba is responsible for handling HR issues at Blueberry – including recruiting, liaising with universities and academic departments, attending graduate recruitment fairs, and dealing with staff queries regarding employment. In addition she has overall responsibility for staff induction, employment contracts, performance reviews as well as designing and implementing Blueberry HR policies and procedures.
